What is Online Counselling? & Fees
Technology has opened up many forms of communication which we can communicate through email that can offer the opportunity to reflect and think through personal issues in your own time and space or by communicating through text using instant messenger which can feel less pressured than seeing a counsellor in person. If text based communication is not for you we can set up a secure Webcam and/or audio link which is secure and safe ensuring your privacy. Which ever medium you choose for your counselling, sessions are arranged in advanced and by appointment. Easy set up of all communication links, in a safe secure environment
How it works:
This is usually one therapeutic e-mail per week to start with unless we mutually agree to a longer period between e-mails. We may agree from the outset to work together for a number of sessions.
I will briefly respond to your e-mail to let you know I have received it and it would be helpful for me if you could also let me know when you have received my therapeutic response.
You may send an e-mail on any day of the week or you may wish to send it on a particular day. I ask however that you allow 72 hours (3 days) before receiving a therapeutic reply from me. I will let you know if this is not possible.
I will spend at least one hour reading your e-mail and writing a therapeutic response – I ask you to perhaps use this as a guide as to how long you spend on an e-mail and how much to write, ideally a maximum of two A4 pages on word, font size 12, however if you require a lager font size please let me know. If there is anything I am unable to attend to in this time it may be carried over to the next session.
If I do not hear from you within 7 days of sending my response (unless we agree that e-mail transactions should be further apart) I shall send a brief prompt. If I do not hear from you again I will assume you feel that our counselling work is complete for now and that you do not wish to continue.

My commitment is to help you feel understood, accepted and listened to and able to find more clarity and strength in yourself to fulfil a life worth living.
Some of the reasons why people choose online counselling
I don’t always have the time to travel down to see my counsellor, however online takes out the travel.
Physical constraints can prevent me from being able to see my counsellor
My anxiety prevents me from leaving my home, but now I am getting the help I need online from my counsellor
I feel embarrassed talking to some one face to face about my difficulties, I prefer not to be seen, using email works for me.
